Dry scalp, scabs, bumps? HELP!!!

So this started happening on his head, and I just noticed a bald spot. Any ideas? what can I do to help it go away.

Staph infection? Wash with chlorehexidine shampoo (eg TrizChlor4). And take him to a vet to rule out anything else!

Vet visit is needed... agree with others, it is staph infection or mange if under a year old

Just came back from the vet, she diagnosed him with mites, gave him nexgard and antibiotics for the skin. Has anyone battled mites and skin reaction due to mites before? any recommendations?

Walter had demodex mange, and at the time we opted to do the dips. In addition we also gave him a anti-flea/tick med, but I will have to research because I can't remember which one he was taking then. My pups take Bravecto now for fleas/ticks...

ALL dogs carries mites, it's when they become out of balance is when the trouble starts. Walter's immune system was compromised so I had to change his diet, give him supplements and add a good probiotic/prebiotic to his diet. He still has allergy issues, but his fur looks pretty good. He will get seasonal alopecia from time to time, but as of now his hair has grown back.

Oh dear! Mites, Vets, and Antibiotics, do they really help the fur to grow back?

I’m not at all qualified to write, other than the fact that my dog was diagnosed with the same diagnosis as yours and prescribed similar medication. He didn’t improve at all. Allergies, hair loss, all start from the inside, the gut, heal the gut . . . as much as possible naturally.

You need probiotics, I gave my dog a heavy dose of probiotics not antibiotics, for a month. Coupled with many other of nature’s healing stuff.

Add some fish oil and cold press coconut oil to his food.

Liberally apply some cold press coconut oil on the affected patches.

Massage the affected areas backwards

Rub some lime in the affect areas

You can also put a few drops of neem oil in the coconut oil and then apply it

Add Vit C to his diet

Give probiotics
