    Default Soft palate surgery

    Hello,
My bulldoggie Kairos had palate surgery yesterday... we got him today and he is very drowsy and tired... I am worried because he threw up food and is so slow and sleepy... is this normal?

Yes, that is normal. Make sure not to give water for a few days...use ice chips. Also only do food a little at a time and soft for a few days.

Yes, it is normal. @reallyrob is right...slow with the water and food. Its like a human having their tonsils removed. Its take a few days to be able to eat regularly.

It also depends on what they used to put him under. If they used ACE some bullies take longer to come around after it, so go slow with water and food. If he's still like that after being home 2 days I would call the vet and ask him.

The healing time will depend on how much of the soft palate was removed, and if the surgery was laser or regular. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

awww I feel for you.. I think everyone gave you great advice. My bully ( who is 3) was also sick the past three days to I totally understand how you feel. I think the hardest part is that our babies can't talk to tell us how they feel. I am new here also and everyone is so very nice and very supportive.. Hope your bully feels better really soon! Take care

    Karen and Duke
