Hi Everyone,

I am a new Bully mum, my boy Diesel is only 16 weeks old, he has just been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia by the orthopaedic specialist. They have said his hips are that bad he is NOT a candidate for the JPS operation, the plan is physio and hydrotherapy to build up the muscles in his back legs.

I was looking for anyone who has had the same experience with such a young pup? Did the physio and hydrotherapy help?

Any help, advise would be appreciated, am heartbroken for my boy!

Thanks,
Chelle

I’ve had issues, but not as severe... weight management is key ... be sure to feed a great food so he can maintain a healthy slow growth and keep weight in check.

We used laser therapy to help lessen inflammation in the area.

Thank you for replying.

He is 8kg, which the vet said was good. We feed him Royal Cannon Bulldog Puppy food.

He starts physio today and the facility does laser treatment so I will ask about that today.

So sorry to hear this. Can you post the x-ray of his hips? hips_severe-300x250.jpgHip-dysplasia-client-X-ray-1.png This is why I'm asking... They are both severe grade E, but you can see the difference.

Keep us posted... also think about a different food RC is all fillers, it does work for some but is not a high quality food. Bring in UK... try James well beloved, wainswright or Acana/Orijen
