Awe.. poor Duke.. hope he feels better soon!
I have a question...yes I have a question....probably searching if anyone went through this too.
In August I went to the vet for Duke’s eye cause it kept leaking. My vet gave me antibiotic drops. 3x a day for a week...first 2 days is 3x a day then next 2 days 2x a day till I reach one day...anyhooo, it did stop leaking but did come n go throughout sept n oct. So I went back yesterday as it’s been leaking non stop for a week and he doesn’t want to open his eye. Like lazy style eye. She was a vet as mine moved out of town. This one she studied in Scotland and seems to know bullies. She did like first vet the dye, blue light n all. Again absolutely nothing wrong with the eye. His 3rd lid is red though. His lashes are all good n not bothering his eye. She did say it’s a bit swollen and the puffiness is rolling inside the eye. She didn’t give me antibiotics but Maxidex which is sterile drops. It’s not an allergy as it wouldn’t be a one issue. It’s really odd. So I don’t know maybe someone out there knows something or seen this before???

well crap.... This will be good to find and resolve and let us know about. I do remember you talking about it b4 and figured that was the end of it. Only thing i could even think of is tear duct blocking thing which sounds weird but when my daughter was just months old i had to massage the lower area of her eye to keep unblocked. Now, i know his is constant running so that seems 'off' but it was some such thing as that. She did have to have an 'uncloging' thing done so thats all i remember. Big help huh. Just guessing it's a tear duct thing, not eye is what i guess im saying.
Helene has a question!!!!
I remember your first post about this cause it was right around the same time that Jax was having constant eye boogers in one eye and couldn’t open it. Vet did light as well, no scratch, gave us drops and it was healed within a couple days.
My first thought for Duke was eyelashes as well but vet said no. Louie’s eyes are constantly tearing, hence the tear stains, and the vet said his lower eyelids roll in just slightly enough to block the tear ducts. No big deal at this point but it could cause an ulcer. Do you have an eye specialist out there you can go to?

I’m going to look for a specialist. Hmmm just dawned on me might go see the vet that did his vasectomy as he’s more out of the box when it comes to thinking lol... im Pretty sure I’ll have to go to the bigger cities. And @Cbrugs..that was funny!
Canelo was diagnosed with dry eye so he now has prescribed daily eye drops twice daily, and if I see a yellowish green discharge I flush his eye and apply Fresh Tears, and over the counter dry eye product. He’s improved greatly. I don’t know if this info is useful but it’s a share.

No not in Duke’s case but great info for others if they come across canelo’s issue.
Duke has no discharge. Nothing is wrong with his eye but waters. I started to give him Benadryl n stopped the drops. Seems to work better than the drops. His eye stays open n just wet around his eye. Will keep him on Benadryl for a couple more days n stop. Then see what happens if it goes back shutting or not.
hope ya/he gets relief ! and, just an fyi for those who dont know about "dry eye" it's not at all what i thought. My eye (one specifically that had been injured years ago) would water so bad during the night and sometimes during the day but would burn often. of course because of the excessive watering, i had no idea it was *dry* eye when it seemed the opposite. But indeed, it was dry eye that is now much under control... Natural oil (w/teatree) at night, and a cleanser (again, an nice one) and i rarely use drops to lubricate during the day. NICE
this one i dont do myself.... heres what im using and i would give ingredients only i cant read them off the bottle .... it's called "we love eyes" and i ordered from the company i believe but think it may be on amazon as well. I had Blepharitis (i know, gross) and had no idea.. dealt with that since a kid. People always thought i got 'pink eye' an awful lot but it wasnt pink eye but cloged eyelash/duct stuff .
