Good evening all.

It’s that time of year again...

Lola’s allergies.
Over the past week her tear stains and scratching have started again.
We are controlling the tear stains and scratching (just about)
But I came home from work today and saw her nose rope looking sore..
We changed her diet about 2/3 weeks ago to an hypo-allergenic diet.
(Wainwright’s)

Just wondered if anyone has any idea what’s going on with my beautiful bullie.
We clean her face twice a day. All her wrinkles and around her eyes.
She had an issue with her ears just over a month ago
but that has almost disappeared.

Thank you in advance.

Woken up this morning and clean Lola’s face and
her nose rope looks so much better than it did yesterday.
I have no clue.. Only thing I can think of is that I cut the
grass in our garden yesterday morning and her allergies went
crazy..

Poor Lola. When Castor's noserope gets all red and sore, I apply some zinx oxide (baby rash ointment) with a cotton swab. I wipe the nose rope once a week or so with chlorhexidine (diluted!).

It looked horrible last night but she was perfectly fine in herself.
Got up this morning, fed her etc.
And it looks so much better after a clean last night.
Gave her a good clean this morning and her normal colour
is starting to reappear.

Will be keeping a close eye on it. As normal, never stop worrying about her 😂

cefe13 got you covered. I personally would clean it a few times a week. I use essential oils. In your case with an inflamed rope like that, I would mix 2tablespoon of coconut oil, 5drops of rose geranium or chamomile oil n 2drops of tea tree. Just wipe clean first then use the mixture with a good swipe with a cotton ball.

Louie barely has a nose rope but every morning I have a routine of wiping with a chlorhexidine wipe, I get his chin, his eye folds, his nose rope, basically his face.

Also, potatoes can sometimes cause yeast problems.

Tom & Lola.

This actually doesn't look all that bad. My Lincoln has a HUGE nose rope, and it does require attention. I usually wipe it clean 2-3x a week with Witch Hazel and then top with diaper rash ointment.

Brett’s going through the same right now. I’ve been cleaning it and using diaper rash ointment. But was told about wrinkle paste. Might have to give this a try.

Thank you for this I shall look in to it.
Lola’s nose has improved A LOT.
We are putting it down to allergies.
She still gets a small amount of gunk in the corners
but her normal skin colour is coming back.

We have been using a cotton pad first to collect the
gunk etc then using wipes to give it a clean, then drying
with another cotton pad.
Once in the morning and once at night.

As soon as we pick up the cotton pad packet she runs to the
sofa and waits for a clean now 😂

Nose rope is the wrinkle above their nose. T
This was exactly what happened to my 3 yr old English bulldog. I changed her diet to freeze dried raw Vital Essentials, and glandex probiotic. I got her an antibiotic just to be safe and to start fresh. I cleaned her nose rope with mal-a-ket wipes about 2-3 times a day for about a week until the redness went away. Or you can just use mild soap and a rag and then a tissue to dry it. Now i use the wipes about 2-3 times a week. and i also clean her tail pocket. Her nose rope is never going to be white like it was when she was a puppy but it does not get red either. It just stays a little brown. Its hard to eliminate yeast 100%
