cbh142 I would wrap it with gauze, and then VetWrap.

The dr emailed me and said the spray and bandage was the right thing to do. We go back tomorrow.

The other bump (I'm guessing) will likely be because of swelling-- and most likely a change in how he is walking and the pressure/missing toe may leave his other toe a bit sideways/crooked which will twist the pad to the side. This is because there is no toe there to line it up properly. This can happen with old age too once they stop walking around as much and get arthritis. Also with splayed paws from not trimming regularly.

Edit: my post was in response to the first post about the bump, it looks like it has straightened out due to the swelling of the incision, once it heals it may turn again.

May I ask why you did not want to send the tumor for testing? Just wondering. I Pray for a Speedy Recover for this Precious Soul.

The foot looks good to me...not nearly as red and swollen. Pink is GOOD!
Wishing you both lots of luck with this.

Thank you for your prayers. I wouldn't opt for chemotherapy no matter what kind of cancer it is. I didn't really see a benefit in knowing. I knew his lungs were clear. I don't see how knowing more specific details would change how he was already being treated. We sent a sample of the mass first, and they confirmed it was cancer, but couldn't say exactly what kind. I could see how fast it was growing, so the amputation was enough for me.

Great news! Geno is now bandage free! The doctor was very pleased with his progress in just a couple days. She thinks he didn't react well to stitches and commented that if any dog is going to react that way to stitches, it would be a BULLDOG! He still has to have his cone unless he is 100% supervised. He wants to lick that toe so badly. I was so happy he met this milestone. We went and got a new toy to celebrate. 20180827_203153.jpg20180827_175120.jpg20180827_175115.jpg

Thank you for the replies. It's great to know someone understands what we're going through. It means a lot.
