Yes, SFA plus staph infection. Ask vet for scrape, it’s a quick and inexpensive analysis which will show staph and Mange mites. For mange the best is Nexgard monthly, for staph you will need antibiotic and medicated dog shampoo with Ketokonazole and Chlorhexidine. Guys are right, you must fix her diet ( may be look at raw or home cooked limited ingredient diet) and increase share of probiotics in food for immune system. Good quality fish oil is very important in dogs diet too, might help with SFA.

Thank you all so much for the advice! I took her to the vet yesterday and had her skin scraped, it wasn't mites. The vet said she has a yeast infection and has her on Ketoconazole 200mg twice daily. She's also on Meloxicam for her Ruptured ACL. I am still scared for her to have surgery but the vet yesterday said she doesn't need the surgery right now, since she's walking on all four legs.

You all are AWESOME!! I love this website, everyone is so nice and helpful. I really appreciate you all taking time to help me.

Keep her calm... short leashed walks, no jumping and limit stairs as much as you can.

Glad your vet has figured out the problem!!! Just some thoughts after checking "malassezia dermatitis" in my vet manual.
1) There's an interaction between ketoconazole and all heartworm medications but you can give instead terbinafine 30 mg/kg once daily with food rather than ketoconazole. You can probably give a low dose of milbemycin ( 1/5 the normal dose found in Sentinel and Interceptor ) if you want to continue on ketoconazole but that is speculation on my part.
2)if you continue ketoconazole usual dose is 5-10mg/kg once daily with food,. Ketoconazole at doses greater than 10mg/kg/day may inhibit cortisol synthesis.
3)usual duration of ketoconazole or terbinafine therapy is 3-4 weeks
4)usually antibiotics are given at same time for at least 3 weeks to treat secondary bacterial infections

Also, she probably got the yeast infection from allergies, so switch her to frozen raw as soon as you can.

Hi Everyone.

I took my 5 year old EB girl Rosie to an orthopedic specialist today and he said her ACL is ruptured in her left back leg and needs surgery. I am terrified of losing her in surgery, have heard of too many bulldogs not making it through. I asked him about a brace and he said that I would be wasting my money. I'd really appreciate any advice!

Also, her hair is coming out all over. It started out with little spots but now the little spots are everywhere. The Dr today said she must have had hives. What should I do? She has had the flank alopecia for 3 years now and has been on Melatonin but the hair never grew back on her sides. She is also on Apoquel and has taken it for 2 years.
These little spots started about 2 months ago. No food changes, I have been feeding her Avoderm for 3 years.

Thank you!
Joy
My bully Tootsie has had surgery to repair both CCL(ACL) in her hind legs - the first surgery when she was about 4, and the second one she was 8. She is doing great and fully recovered from both. There is always a concern for surgery but if your vet knows bulldogs they will watch for any issues in surgery. Post op get a pen and be prepared to have a really frustrated dog for awhile as they are extremely limited in their movements for about 6 weeks. We used a support harness (goes under the belly) to help her outside to potty and she was restricted to her pen otherwise. I am grateful that everything worked out for the best for her and she is happily running around on all four legs again! Good luck!
