My EB has a Runny nose and Cough. I give him Claritin daily but it does not appear to be working. He is going to the Vet on Saturday, so that the Vet can listen to his heart and lungs and get schedule a chest X-ray. I just can't seem to control his Runny nose. What does everyone else do when this happens?

If you’ve been giving Claritin daily and nothing has changed since his coughing n runny nose, not much more you can do but bringing him to a vet like you’re going to do. I would personally stop the Claritin if there is no improvement anywhere n see what the vet suggest. If you have a diffuser I sure would add eucalyptus, peppermint oils and place it where he sleeps.

Is he still licking his paws too?

You need an experienced bulldog allergist.

Multiple, ongoing symptoms and lengthy history worry me,
such misery for both of you :(
Love & prayers, please keep us informed.

He just saw his Dermatologist. He sees his Vet on Saturday, so he can listen to Max's heart and lungs. The cough has subsided some but I am still concerned.
He is on Apoquel. The wounds on his (R) paw are slowly healing with the Chloramphenicol, but Max does continue to lick the paw. It is a struggle. I feel so sorry
for him, he has been thru so much .....

Give that boy a hug for me ... with the other issues, i wonder if just a weak immune system has caused a cold

Yes, we suffer as we see their sufferings, hard on all :(

My girl, Cami died this past Feb. after fighting hard against
Cushing's Disease for over a year. She was 11 old then developed
a cancerous tumor. I had to let her go, the most I could do for her.
She had been such a happy girl, I couldn't bear her suffering for.
one more minute. My heart is broken, shattered but my beloved girl
is at rest and at peace, that comforts me.

I send much love to you & your beloved boy, Maximus, and keep y'all
in prayers for healing & restoration, Amen! XOXO

Yes, I'm sure his immune system is weakened especially with taking Apoquel for so long. In addition I think Air Conditioning is a culprit as well since Maximus loves to sit over the vents and have the AC blow in his face. Go figure! He is my sweet "Kissy Boy" and I love him dearly, I just want to try and make him more comfortable, but he definitely is a full-time job for me.......
