Costco has fish oil capsules on sale so I got a bottle. They are 1000 mg so what is dosage for dogs? Jax is 30 pounds and Louie is 55 pounds. But I just noticed they are soft gel capsules so can I still give to them?

Healthy dogs can be given 100 to 150 mg EPA and DHA per 10 pounds of body weight daily; dogs who have health problems can be given up to 300 mg per 10 pounds of body weight

I think the fish oil caps from Costco you bought have 1000 mg of oil, but only 300mg of EPA and DHA. So you could Jax one capsule (300mg) a day and Louie 2 caps a day (600mg). It's recommended to give natural source Vitamin E 400IU once a week.

I find that I can pierce the fish oil caps using a safety pin and squeeze the oil out. The brand I bought of Vitamin E caps are very firm, and I have to cut the end of the capsule off with scissors which is a pain.

Thanks. Piercing the capsule with a pin is easy enough!

Krill oil makes Jax gassy. He seems to have a sensitive stomach. I used the krill oil I had for Louie finished it and now have the fish oil capsules so they can both use them.
