I think schedule feeding and measured amounts are best for feeding dogs, because it is controlled, you know exactly how much they are eating, the meals are spaced out so they get two meals a day, so they aren't eating too much at once and being overly full, or having long periods in between what they eat and maybe feeling hungry. Also when you free feed there is the potential for them to eat too much, and have weight problems. I find it also easier to have a potty schedule, because you know exactly when they ate, and most of the time they go to the bathroom soon after they eat.
I feed my guys 1 cup in the morning around 6:00 and 6:30 am, and 1 cup in the evening around 6:00 pm, and they usually go to the bathroom about 20 minutes to half an hour after they eat, after their tummies have settled.

Not eating is one of the first signs we see when a dog is not feeling well. Free feeding with multiple dogs in the home masks that. It may be days before one notices that there is declining food intake, then by which dog?
I do not recommend

That's a good looking crew you got there!

I agree with all! Another benefit is that you can have them behave, as you put each dish down, and teach them not to take the other one's food. That is what I have always done-just a suggestion. Mine are good about it, but I still stand there while they eat :bigboss::mansfriend: Ali althani
