My Tank has a hernia from birth, now he is a big boy, hernia is still there, it is around 4 cm long and 3 cm wide, it doesn't cause any trouble and we not going to put him under general anaesthesia just for hernia. If you plan to spay your girl, you can always ask vet to fix hernia too. If it is really small, and not progressing ( that means that you don't see more inner organs sticking out when she has exerting) it can stay. Anyway, ask trusted vet to assess her hernia and options.

Can we see a picture? My Fran has a small "belly button" and the vet said it's fine.

We had a pup w/a hernia, and they just mentioned that if they were going under that they hernia could be repaired. I wouldn't just do a hernia surgery unless it's absolutely necessary...

One of mine had an umbilical hernia, much larger than that. I put a quarter on it,and wrapped her around the middle with vet wrap. She was just a pup. My vet thought that was a great idea! I had done the same thing with my son,who was born with one. Both his, and the pup's hernia closed up.

My son's little GS 5 months old also has a hernia but between his umbilical n his male part. Vet said just to keep an eye on it if there's any change. That was a month ago. The hernia is gone. He just went to see the vet and the vet said when Mick gets neutered, he'll check if he sees anything. It could of just gone.
