Hi everyone, update on diesel. He is almost off all of his meds and is doing well. The vet thinks that he may have had a small ulcer before surgery and then the stress of surgery and everything just made it all flare up! He is also on a new food for IBS, since he has such a sensitive tummy. It is royal canin hypoallergenic HP. We are hoping this will be it!

Hi everyone, I have another thread started from awhile ago from when this all started but I started a new one in hopes to get more responses/advice/personal experience. Long story short, our boy had surgery and during it he regurgitated and got some acid in his esophagus - this caused esophagitis. The vet was unaware this happened until we brought him home and he wouldn't stop regurgitating multiple times a day. We brought him back and they gave us meds and said if he wasn't better in 2 days to bring him back. He didn't get better so we brought him back, they did a barium swallow - all looked pretty good, but he was still regurgitating so they decided to keep him. No food for 48 hours, iv therapy, and they will slowly introduce food back after 72 hours.. if he does not tolerate this, then we have to go to the specialist (where he originally had this surgery) that is two hours away for a scope to see if he has an esophageal structure... in hoping and praying he doesn't because they said the prognosis of that is not good, he's only 1 1/2 😣 Please does anyone have any experience or advice???

Oh man this is is a tough one...Try elevating the dog dishes so he is eating higher and easier on his throat
I'm not a doctor but to get the stomach settled after a surgery I would use yogurt (brosco likes cherry) so once I mixed in a blender (buy a separate one for diesel) and mix with yogurt And it seemed to settle his stomach I haven't had an incident since with him vomiting And this wasn't after a sugery it was after he ate some earplugs in the shop and vomited them up
