Went to brush Murphy this morning
And noticed his neck had little patches of blood I guess.
There are a few of them. All on the back of the neck.
These are the best pictures I could get he wasn't having it.
They aren't open and oozing or anything like that, just spots of blood.

For a while now he's had really flaky skin, which I was told it's because of the weather. So we have been washing him with sulfodene.

I can't tell if the bloody spots were from me brushing him with the furminator or not. But he just seems to be really dry. His belly is fine, but he just has so much extra fur on the back of his neck rolls.

Contemplating taking him to the vet for them to shave those areas????
I can try to put medicine on but it would have to be worked in there because of his fur-hence wanting to shave it.
Hope it doesn't turn into a hot spot

He gets coconut oil etc every day too.
Only thing is the flaky skin and that's usually when I brush him so idk, no other problems at all

Sorry for the jumbled post. Husband has been extremely sick, been together 10years & he's never missed a day of work, and he's called in twice in the last 2 weeks, so taking him to the dr today. Just want my little Murph not to have any problems lol.

What about bag balm????

Could be a staph infection or just like you said dry skin.... does he have them anywhere else on him?

What do you feed him brand/protein? How long has the flaky skin been happening?

No it's just of the back of the neck.

We feed him what the breeder had him on, it's something from Costco. We got him in August, this started late December I believe.

He's getting a bath today sometime so I'm going to clean it well and keep an eye on it through the weekend.

How old is he now... like 8 months? Even though it is the food you always fed, does not mean he will not have a reaction at some point (life of a bulldog). He may need a food change... grain and chicken free is a good start. If you can get closer picture, it night help with others giving more insight.

Does he itch there? It's allergy season too, so they could be allergy related.

He will be 11 months on the 27th.
He doesn't ever itch.
I could branch out and try a new food. Be kind of fun :)

I'm going to try to get a better picture when I give him a bath later.
Just got back from the dr, husband had a temp of 104. So trying to keep him stable at the moment

They are good.
Blake doesn't have a high fever anymore.

Murphy is fine. All he wanted to do was cuddle yesterday with his papa.
His neck looks good. All clear just a little dry. I think I just irritated it when I brushed him. But still am going to look into it.
I'm off to work at the moment :(
It's raining a tremendous amount, that calls for snacks and movies all day not work!!! Haha

So with changing his foods
I believe he is allergic to raw carrots & that is about it.

He is getting a cup and a half every day-3 meals
Morning with coconut
Lunch with yogurt
And dinner-bananas green beans or whatever is around

It's from Costco-it's chicken rice & vegetable.

With giving him a better quality food we could also limit the amount he is getting( to 2 feeding times a day? With a snack)

I'm just not sure what brands I should be looking into??? Fromm, blue buffalo?
And specific brand and flavor would be helpful :)

Many that are successful are Taste of Wild, Earthborn, Orijen, Acana, Fromm, The Honest Kitchen.... Chicken and grains tend to be issues so maybe look for something without those ingredients. We feed Fromm pork and peas and/or the newest flavor (long german word). Have to look it up but it starts with an H.

Yes, higher quality food means less at meals and hopefully less vet visits
