I have a 1 year old bullie, I have had her since she was 12 weeks old. I noticed right away that she has low muscle tone and she was like picking up a bag of flour, everyone thought it was cute because you could hold her like a baby, she was total relaxed laying back in your arms, but I still thought it was odd because she was difficult to pick up because she was had no tone... (hope that makes sense)... then I started noticing (slowly) that when she was in a sitting position she was slow to get up and then she would drag her back leg just a little (no one noticed except me), now she is a year old and it is very noticeable - when she is sitting and then try to walk, she drags her legs lot, but once she gets up she is fine and doesn't appear to be in any pain....some time we just say "she has to get her legs lubed up" before she gets going. But I know a 1 year old dog should be like this. I'm going to attach a video...... please let me know what you think it is....... she doesn't appear to be in pain and walks and runs just fine...
Her name is Raynee
Any feedback would be appreciated

You will need to change your video status, it's labeled as private…
Has she been evaluated by a vet for this?

I was able to see the video and can see what you mean. And when she gets up, she can walk normally? Does she walk a lot or try to avoid it? I can't say that I have any experience with this though. Has she seen a vet? In any case, she is adorable and is so pretty!

Yes she walks and runs fine... sometimes my husband says she is kinda lazy or developed a bad habit.... Haven't went to the vet was waiting to get it on video so I can show her. because you can't tell when she is walking.

Ok I saw the video… she does seem to be dragging her leg. I would definitely have her evaluated by a vet, she may need an X-ray/MRI to see what's going on. It could be a torn ligament or something…

At this point it could be any number of things, she needs to be evaluated by a bully experienced
Vet. What are your plans for Raynee? Please give us an update when you can on her condition.

That's what came to mind too. I would definetely go to a vet soon or to a specialist. Very Cute little girl, hope it's nothing serious.

From what I just googled on spina bifida, there are MANY different types and some dogs are not symptomatic. You need to see a qualified vet and have x-rays and/or an MRI done to confirm the diagnosis. Please let us know what the vet says, and we will help you thru this process.

I was just asking this specific owner how his her dog is doing now
Unfortunately, the OP of this thread has not been seen in nearly 5 years. A private message might work.
Dragging back legs like this could be hip dysplasia. We currently have a 5 YO male rescue that does this. His left leg has severe dysplasia and he's awaiting further evaluation and likely FHO surgery.
