Hi, Everyone's got you covered with great advice as usual. You're doing a great job of caring for his paw, and I agree that it looks like a bee or wasp sting. I'm glad he's improving and feeling better, and I hope it clears up soon, but also agree if it's not better in a couple more days, I would take him to the vet to make sure there isn't a stinger stuck in his paw. I learned two new things from this post, one is the benefits of Peppermint Oil, and also that you can treat bee stings with a banana peel. I love natural remedies.

Thanks to all - I'll post some updated pics tonight since in the mornings its too dark. The swelling is still there, but its moved slightly up his toe and formed like a small bump... Not sure what that's all about. He lets us massage it, soak it, etc so we are continuing with all of that. I should be getting a call back from our vet today and I'll see what she suggests. The swelling has improved since Friday - but I guess not at the pace I would have expected or liked to have seen. But most importantly since he seems to not be bothered by it much anymore, and is normal as can be, I will try to keep my worries at bay. (keyword: "try") LOL

If swelling continues to go down, all will be good. If not, it needs attention from a Vet. Maybe a dex shot or some antibiotics...or both. Give him a bit more time and love.

Thanks for the update!

Looks much better than it did, thank gawd, whatever got TyTy, got him good!

Think Todd Marine1 might be right and it was a ground hornet, so angry looking,
surprised he let you near it.

I'd give it another couple of days, no need for steroids or antibiotics if you can help it.

Hoping the worst is over and sending mad LOVE from Texas :)

That "bump" that appeared seems to be like a cyst. It's started bleeding tonight - so keeping it clean. Wonder if cyst came from bite reaction!?

Limp is gone, since swelling on bottom is gone. It's just on the top now. :/

Does almost look like an interdigital cyst-- could be if it was a bite and allergic reaction

Hoping this is the tail end of it once the cyst is gone!
