    Default Small raised bumps.Concerned.

Daisy is developing small raised bumps just where the very top of the legs rests on the body right in a fold she also has 1 on her neck also in a fold any ideas of what this could be..I have just moved her unto James Wellbeloved fish and rice food after recommendations from a pet store that specialises in dog food it only has a 3 star rating on here but the store owners highly recommend it for bully's they actually have a bully themselves. Also I have used a dry shampoo on her is this ok. Sorry for all the questions I have always had dogs but never a bully so the breed is so new to me and I just want to do right by her.

Just as an after thought could her harness be causing it? The bumps are exactly where the harness would rest on her

It could very well be the food, shampoo and/or the harness… Can you take a pic of them? Do you think it's a heat rash or actual hives? Hives is serious, she could be having an allergic reaction so I always give my dogs meds and keep an eye on them. Heat rash you can just keep the area clean and dry (I use a little bit of Gold Bond powder). Check to see that her harness isn't too tight on her…

DD you cant actually see them and there is no redness either, the skin is dry, she needs a bath today but I'm afraid to use the shampoo now, other than the bumps she isn't scratching or doesn't look umcomfotable. I dint know that they could get hives, I will wipe the area down with Luke warm water and keep my eye on it and see how she is in a few days, oh the worry it's just like having a brand new baby home lol

How old is Daisy? Is the food grain free? Does the harness line up with the bumps?

Sounds like hives to me, if you can't see them but you can feel them. Does the shampoo have oatmeal in it? I would lay off the shampoo for awhile… it could very well be the food too. Is she on a grain-free kibble?

    Hello,

Many or most bulldogs will get hives at some point. Even on the same food, same water, same bedding, just something bother them. Hives are NOT red or scabby, but simply bumpy. A dog can eat something off the grass, dirt, ground (bird poop, cat poop, bug, insect, stagnant rain water, etc.). If mild, I watch for 1-2 days. If severe as in complete cover of 50% of more of skin coat, then I will use benadryl. I fold inside plain cream cheese and they just like and swallow right up. I give 1 pill per 25# 1-2x/day. This usually knocks if out in 1-2 days.

I agree about NOT using oatmeal based shampoos. Mites thrive on yeast, oatmeal is a food source, not rinsing thoroughly can leave residue.

    GF food and treats also.

    Good Day~
