Hey guys!!

Hope everyone and their babies are doing well. Wanted to see if you could please weigh in on HW preventative medications? Specifically, Tri-Heart Plus and Trifexis. I used Sentinel in the past without any problems.

Thanks so much! Have a great day!!

PLEASE DO NOT USE TRIFEXIS… right now there is a HUGE debate on the internet whether or not Trifexis kills dogs, and they have several lawsuits!!! I use Sentinel w/no issues, and in the past I used Heartgard.

I've used Heartgard Plus since Blue was a puppy. When we got Wellie, I put him on it too. Never had an issue.

I used heart guard for all my pugs for FTSE we used to have the yearly needle but four months ago changed over to heart guard as he gets stressed when going to the vets for the needle I have always found heart guard to be very good.
Trifexis is not recommended I think Cheryl (libra926)has a post here on it

I use Advantage Multi for both dogs. No problems at all. I stopped using Trifexis for Chumly and Barney about 3 years ago. It was a major battle to get them to take it so have used a topical since then. Also Monty was already on it when we got him so we didn't have to change anything for him.

We use a topical as well for our guys. We use Revolution, it covers HW, fleas, ticks, and mange. We have never had any issues with it. I am not familiar with the other brands so can't recommend them, but I have also heard bad things about Trifexis.

Sentinel for years over four bullies never an issue -- for ticks we use Vectra 3D
