I sure wish these guys could talk. She slept better last night. But she refused her food this morning, except for aggressively eating out of my hand (the little diva). Then I scrambled an egg and added it. (I figured the protein would help) She ate all of it and was picking pieces up off the floor. Once she had food in her belly, I gave her the Cipro. I think that is what has been bothering her stomach. She went out and peed and pooped right after eating--all normal. We'll see how she does the rest of the day. My days today and tomorrow are packed, but Bill is with her and can take her to our local vet or the specialist in Grand Rapids. She is such a sweet little thing--doesn't appear to be in any distress. I am, but she isn't!

Poor baby. Brutus was on an antibiotic, can't remember the name, but it upset his tummy really bad.

I'd be scambling up a dozen of eggs for her if she wanted them :) When does she come of the Cipro?

This sounds just like what Usko has had lately, except for the lack off appetite. He would eat a horse. With Usko I'm leaning towards yeast infection in the lungs and eyes. He has been on so many antibiotics this last year and cause of last summers close call his lungs are not in the best possible condition. He eats raw food without yeast feeding carbs so the symptoms have not been so obvious. His poo was analyzed and it was full of yeast. Unfortunately he was put on antibiotics again 3 weeks ago and cortisone. About two weeks ago I called the with my own diagnosis and he did agree that is is a possibility(!) and we got Sporanox, which is to get rid of the yeast, heavy stuff. He also gets 2 tablets/day Candida Forte, sauerkraut and probiotics as tablets. I'm cautiously optimistic and he seems getting better finally. Maybe you could ask the vet to check his poo for yeast. I hope she gets better soon! Hugs to you both!

Thanks, Riikka. She is doing better tonight. She ate, and has been awake all day. Her breathing is a little ragged, but not as wet and junky as last week. I hope we are turning the corner. If not, she will go to the vet as soon as we can get her in.

Yeast is such a nasty, evil beastie and so hard to get rid of as it hides
in the body so effectively. It can seem gone only to repopulate so it
must be fought from different angles and consistently.

I'm sure you were surprised Usko's poo was full of yeast, me too!

Very good call, Riikka, good job! Your boys are blessed w/ you as Mom!

She has about 9 days left. Bill was giving it to her on an empty stomach.

Oh my! I'm so hoping this is the problem for her, it's encouraging
she is eating again. Continued prayers for sweet, precious Mabel.
You & Bill's deep devotion to Mabel helps heal my cynical heart. I
can recall those 1st meeting pics vividly, the instant love (on both
sides) is so obvious in them. Y'all are real blessings <3

So sorry Mabel is not feeling well. I certainly hope she feels better soon. Cipro can be harsh on the stomach. Better for her to have it on a full stomach if at all possible. If she's not eating that may present an issue with her tummy. Poor baby. My prayers are with Mabel for a speedy recovery.
