Well we went for our second opinion on Abbott's eye issues and his knee xray review. He has to have entropion surgery on both eyes again....so this will be #3 .He is currently starting Adequan shots twice a week for a month than we will taper off.He is also doing laser therapy to help alleviate any pain in his knees. They said he was like an alligator doing a death roll while they were trying to laser him.lol. He's not to find if being poked and prodded these days.So this is where we are at at the moment.Whatever it takes is what we will do :)

Lol..."like an alligator doing a death roll"...the visual has me rolling!
Especially since I had Fat Cami at the Vet on Sat. and she was on her
back, waving her lil short legs in the air as they were looking at a
weird growth on her paw pads. Took me & 2 techs to hold her down!
It is an overgrowth of keratin and the cure is keeping it shaved down.
I was so afraid it was a cancer so my heart is tender for all here, going
thru worry & fear for their sweet bullies, it's just awful ;(

Keeping you & Abbott covered with prayers, please update us.

Texas Carol..it has been a long road for sure. The growth on her paws does it look like hair coming out kind of..Both of ours have developed weird paw growths this summer.I'm praying for all the bullies and their parents .

She had one kind that was hard, boney type of protrusions right beside
her last nail on each hind foot, looked like a nail even. He cut those off
with sharp scissors. Then, yes, on the bottom of her pads, there is a
place that was kinda yellow & looked like tiny, short, bristly hairs, very
tightly grouped (like on a brush). He said to keep them filed down with
a dremmel as they will continue to grow.

Did your Vet say if that was fungal or keratin overgrowth?

Yes, I pray for EBN members & bullies too...family here!

Poor baby Abbott. I sure hope he can catch a break soon. I know the feeling - seems like its always something. We started Tyson on Adequan 4 weeks ago, and we have seen some improvement! I am praying for Abbott....and no one likes being poked & prodded, wish they knew we only do it for their best interest. Let me know how the Adequan goes for him. We're past the loaded phase, and starting to taper off, I'll just have to monitor and see when I notice he needs another. We did the first 3 at the vets office, and the last one at home.

Laser therapy .... Banks was not fond at first either, but after about 3 or 4 sessions, she LOVED it and at times would actually nap during the session :luv:

I'm so sorry to hear about your baby… and all those eye surgeries. Wally has had two, and let me tell you I'm already over it…
