Nelly was whining at 1 am but wouldn't get down from the couch to go out. 5:30 am, whining and discovered poop accident in the house, completely unusual even when she was a puppy. Took her out and she seems disoriented. Pooped while walking, didn't stop to do business, and is foaming.

Trying to decide between waiting until 9 am (three hours) to see vet or take her to emergency.

Perhaps overheated?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Cross posting due to slight panic.

Negative for giardia. Fever of 103 down to 101 and they ran bloodwork. Prescribed antibiotics, anti-nausea, anti-parasite as a precaution. Resting her stomach until tonight anyway. Thanks for the help and concern. Will keep you all posted.

Can you tell me why you think she was seizing? She was also twitching this am but the doc saw the video and said it was probably related to the vomiting and not of concern unless it persists.

I'm glad she is at the vets, and she seems to be improving. I hope they can figure out what is causing the foaming in the mouth. It's usually caused from an upset stomach, nausea, or ingesting something. Hopefully with medication she will feel better soon. I wouldn't give her any food at least for today, and just offer her access to plenty of water, to flush out whatever is making her feel sick, and to rest her stomach. Please keep us posted on how she's doing. Hugs.

No I have no idea, seizures can be a medical side effect or symptom of something else, similar to vomiting it diarrhea, unless it's epileptic. Any changes recently? New meds, shots, heart worm pills, food, toys, stress, ect?

Thank you all again. She is having focal seizures, causing the foaming, fever, bowel control issues. She has been admitted to the er/icu overnight to stabilize and test. She was comfortable when I left her, respiratory distress relieved (full bully panting for hours) and treated with anti-seizure meds. Please think good thoughts. Hoping for a good outcome.
