So Jovi's vet did actually prescribe her the refills on the Tramadol and the Carprofen. However she does not keep these in stock at the vet so she gave me the prescription to go get at a pharmacy. I went straight to Rite Aid and of course they had Tramadol but had no clue what Carprofen was.... So they called my vet and Dr. Childers said that some pharmacies carry it and to call around. How have they not heard of it? I looked up online and it seems to be a generic version of Rimadyl which every pharmacy (for the most part) carries, however from the looks of online it will be around $250 for 60 pills!!! I got these originally prescribed from the specialist that saw her about her hips but I called Dr. Childers to get a refill because she knows Jovi and is her regular vet. I didn't know I would be going through all this. Anyways, does anybody know a place that sells Carpofen?? Everyone suggests online to order it from an online pharmacy but I honestly don't trust them... not with my Jovi. Does anybody else's bully take these and have a pharmacy? I need these ASAP too :(

Don't know if this is possible but maybe your vet could call another vet in the area and see if she could ask them to fill the prescription or just prescribe Rimadyl instead of the generic for now.

I looked online and saw the price at about $70 for 60 count 100mg Carprofen or Rimadyl 60 count 100mg for $100. That was at 1-800-Petmeds which are legit. BUT as you say, you need them now. However, it may be worth noting for the future. Always look for the VetVipps seal (usually at the bottom of the page) as it shows they are certified.

Novox for Dogs - Rimadyl Generic Pain Medicine (NSAID) - 1800PetMeds
Rimadyl | Arthritis Treatment for Dogs - 1800PetMeds

Good luck.

Thank you I will look into it. I am just so nervous and it breaks my heart to see her in the pain. I have also noticed that her back legs (closer to her feet) have been cold. I will go to massage them for her and it feels wet, until I massge even further and it just feels cold, is this something that could be an even more problem?

Gosh, I wish I could help with that but I would think that being cold is not good, could show lack of circulation? I am not trying to scare you and I am just guessing but it would concern me. Hopefully someone else will check in with their thoughts. If you are worried maybe a vet visit is in order. Poor baby.

Another thought, have you checked the pharmacies at your local grocery stores? Our Kroger seems to do pretty well with getting doggy prescriptions for me.

We have a heated orthopedic bed for Tyson, I've found that it works really well for him & his arthritis .... Esp in the winter. Just a thought, also I agree with 1Chumly / try grocery stores, or smaller mom/pop type pharmacies.

Great information, Lynn!

I'd give Jovi her pain meds and order the Carprofen online, it
won't hurt to wait a few days. Bring the coldness/ wet feeling
in her feet to the Vet's attention. Prayers for both of you <3

Thanks everyone! I went to Rite Aid again on friday and told them that Carprofen was pretty much a generic brand for Rimadyl. They again said they did not have it but the lady was really nice and called Wegmans around the corner since they have pet meds and someone from Wegmans ordered some. So I picked it up today! Jovi over all seems decent today but I gave it to her anyways. It's so good to see her running <3 but I didnt let her play too much but shes back to her normal self.
