I came home today to find my puppy with a quarter size sore in between her shoulders, looking like a bite of some sort or a chunk came out of her skin, it wasn't there this morning and I had her out in the house during the day when I was gone. Don't know what she cut herself on, but am wondering what instant relief I can provide her with before we go to the vet tomorrow? She wants to itch it with her back feet and that is not good ... a cold compress maybe? Neosporin? I really don't know she has never had a cut like this thanks for your help

I'm sticking with my guess. I'd say that the vet will prescribe antibiotics and possibly allergy meds too. Seen this before.

Not sure what that could be but I always keep colloidal silver on hand and apply it on any cuts or sores me or my dogs get. It's great stuff and kills any bacteria that might be present.

Could also be a hot spot, was wash with antibacterial soap, and keep dry. I would not leave her outside when you are gone especially in the summer, they can get too hot quickly and get heat stroke, plus too easy for someone to steal her too.

Hi, I agree with David and Christine, it looks like it might be a Hotspot. The vet will be able to diagnose it. I hope she feels better soon.
