Hey all. in typical fashion I am freaking out finding something new/weird on frank's body. it looks like a skin tag filled with bloody liquid. it hangs off his chin, it protrudes a bit. I tried to get a very close up shot so you could see.

I'm not sure how long it's been there as that part of his mouth is usually hidden beneath his lips (is there a dog term for lips?) and I just noticed it today!

is this more of a 'keep it clean and wait a few days' or a 'make a vet appointment ASAP'

thanks for the help!

I guess I don't know the technical terms :(

it it does indeed look like a blood blister. But longer and thin

It comes off his chin like you can flick it back and forth.

Positive it's not a tick.

it became redder as I was touching it and inspecting it.

Buster once had something similar to that, I found it on the left side of his jowl and squeezed it and it burst and there was a little red dot that was left and it went away in a couple of days. Never found out what caused it. I would just keep an eye on it and not worry to much, maybe if you have some Vetricyn you could spray it on there and see if it helps. I think it drys up and goes away on its own.

They pop up some times, not sure what causes them, but nothing to worry about and should go away soon.

Frank has gotten a couple of those over the years and I just watch them and will try to keep them clean and dry and they end up going away.

Yeah - just watch & wait - should pop, and dry up. I wouldn't pop it though - just let it happen on its own :)
