Just got back from the vet. He thinks she got bit or stung by something, had an allergic reaction to it and now it's some sort of hot spot. She got 2 shots, 1 cortisone and 1 antibiotics and 2 sets of pills.
he said its definitely not a hematoma since it's on the surface of her skin(i swear he hates me and my diagnosis and how overprotective i am of her). She should be good in a few days...fingers crossed.

Good news hope it all heals nice and quickly and stops irritating Ruthie

I hope Ruthie is already feeling better. It's a horrible feeling when there's something wrong with our babies. I'm glad I'm not the only one that gives the doc their own diagnosis!

Much better. She hasn't scratched at all.
As you can see it's still really red/purple but nothing like yesterday. She's been a lot happier too!
