Vet says that she may have to cut cartilage to tuck gland back in.anyone ever hear of this? I'm seeing specialist on Monday!

Brett had the surgery. The Vet opted removal but left a little tear duct gland so he won't suffer any dry eyes. His eyes are good now :) Good luck!

I would wait to see the specialist and see what he thinks.

Cherry eye can be common but be sure to get a second opinion and have a specialist look at it. Best of luck

Cherry eye is very common. One of mine had it and his ophthalmologist just tucked the gland back in, there wasn't any cutting. But there are different ways to do it, and I know some vets think
that there's a high risk of it coming out when tucked so use different methods.

But yeah, speak with the specialist, they'll know best.
