These spots have recently began showing up. Mugsy licks and has been licking these areas a lot lately. Giving him a bath today we noticed them and what looks to be dry skin. His diet has been Purina Puppy Chow. Should we change the dry food?

Yes that looks like dermatitis from an allergic reaction. How old is Mugsy? Just a wee pup right?

A grain free food switch would be great. We feed our dogs Fromm 4 star. Also try adding one 1000mg fish oil pill per day to his diet to help his skin and fur. We did this with our EB when he started losing fur due to environmental allergies. He hasn't had a problem since with losing fur.

Antying Purina is really not a good food... look to switch him over to a high quality food. Many here have great success with Fromm, Taste of the Wild, Orejin, Acana. Eathborn... to name a few.
