Today Castor had his post-surgery (nares and soft palate) checkup. Everything looks fine, and difference in breathing is amazing.

When we first took him for an evaluation of his breathing problems, they suggested he might also have a allergy problem as he was scratching himself raw, but as that stopped right after his surgery, we think that scratching was stress-related from not being able to breathe properly.

However, the dermatologist we met today swabbed Castor's wrinkles, toes, and ears, and it turns out he has quite a yeast/fungus infection going on in his face wrinkles and between his toes. Castor does lick his paws although not excessively. We have previously used douxo now and then for the face wrinkles and the vet suggested we now use that plus apply a cream containing miconazole and hydrocortisone called Daktacort. Just want to check whether any bulldogs here have experience of that cream?

I have used something similar...don't recall which exact ingredients, but similar in that it was also an antifungal combined with a steroid cream. It should be helpful for Castor as long as he doesn't lick it off, which is a problem when i apply anything topical on mine :(

We have that same here, but I've never used it. You should only use periodically, not all the time. If you use it just now and then or all the time he may become resistant or allergic to it.

Thanks for your feedback! Aha, panalog is something similar - I have read about that here and wondered what it was!

We're to use douxo plus the daktacort cream morning and evening for ten days, and after that only douxo when needed, which makes sense then.
We'll try this and hopefully it will help!

Glad to hear that Castor's surgery was a success… hopefully you can get his yeast under control!!!

Totally agree, use only as long as it's needed.
