Got a new rescue this past Friday, she's a year old. I noticed some red / discolored bumps on the underside of her neck. Tonight one opened up. I'm thinking maybe Hystiocyrcoma ( I'm sure I spelled that wrong) any advice or knowledge in this appreciated

:welcome2: to EBN, and Thank YOU for rescuing that sweet baby!!! That spot looks painful, I would definitely take her to a vet to be seen she might need some antibiotics so that it doesn't get infected. In the meantime I would keep it clean, and put some neosporin on it. Keep us posted!!!

The one in the photo sure looks like a dog bite.

Poor baby! Ouch! I would certainly take her to the vet to have them looked at. None of them look like a hystiocytoma, more like giant hives or pimples, is the area itchy?

She has a vet appointment, they don't itch. No she wasn't bit! The open one was the biggest spot and it literally opened up last night after a bath which is what totally baffled me. The discoloration of them is what has me worried

OUCH... are they only on her neck?

Almost looks like puppy acne, but haven't seen one open up like that or that dark. I'm curious to see what your vet says.

Let us know how the vet appointment goes, hopefully it's just a skin infection that can be cleared up quickly, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's allergy related.

Well started her on Cephalexin today. Some type of skin infection. She was started on a grain free diet a week ago when she came to us along with coconut oil so wants to give it time to see what her system will do on her new diet. I've attached a better picture

I've never seen anything like this, not even in pics.
Let us know if the Cephalexin works.
