Hello to everyone everywhere,
I need some help. A close friend has a two year old male that hurt his leg and needed surgery. I think he said it was a ligament, and not a CCL (TTA or TPLO). The surgery was successful but the problem is in the post-care. The area where the stitches are keeps filling up with fluid. They have gone back to have it drained several times. No infection, just fluids. After the second time, a drain tube was put in and it only worked for a short while. A second surgery was performed to check inside to make sure everything was fine and it was. The dog is on antibiotics and it has been going on for five weeks now.
1. Has anyone had post leg surgery that has had this type of problem?
2. Has anyone had any allergic reaction to the sutures used for closing?
Any suggestion or advice will truly be appreciated. Thank you, Good Day~
