I had my 4 year old bully spayed 4 days ago. She has been eating and drinking normal and moving around fine. She did puke today. The incision is a bit swollen and hard and her belly seems hard on one side. No oozing. My last bully was spayed when I got her so I have no idea what is normal. Thoughts? When she puked... what was in it / color?

The incision looks good actually, in my opinion. You can do a cool compress to help with swelling. as for her belly being hard, it could just be bruising/swelling from the procedure. But, it will not hurt to call the vet office to confirm that is OK

The puke was brown, looks like she puked up a milkbone and maybe ate it up. It could only see the leftover bits and pieces and some wetness

The incision looks pretty normal right now-for a fresh one. The skin usually looks "bunched up" when first done. Don't put anything on it-if you worry-cool compress a 2BullyMama stated. As long as there is no weeping,or pus, it should be fine. In a year-you won't even see a scar!

is she on oral antibiotics? If yes, they could be giving her an upset belly. Make sure she has a full belly when you give it to her

As others have said it looks normal and they will fell hard for awhile. As long as it is not oozing, red, or swollen, it is fine.

:hmm: only the one time... eveytthing else is fine?

so far I have only seen puke once. She seems fine every other way. She doesn't want to relax and bolts as soon as I let her out the door! I know she is supposed to relax but she makes it hard

They ALL make that hard.... we had to leash Banks when she was spay and again when she had another surgery.... she does not settle much at all, even at 9 yrs.

I think you are good... keep close watch any change in behavior or more puke... call the vet
