Mac
As you all know…Mac was diagnosed with Hypo Plastic Trachea and prescribed meds. He had a really bad episode last week...which scared the daylights out of us. He was throwing up, very lethargic and could barely breathe. Called the Vet and was advised to give him Benadryl twice a day in addition to the meds until we could bring him in. I remembered how I used to use the vaporizer on my kids and started using it for Mac at night as well. The next day he was back to his old hyper self. Took him to the vet and the Dr. prescribed stronger meds. He said that his allergies could’ve triggered the episode. And that it takes a year for them to grow out of the trachea issue. He said that he may have more episode until he grows out of it…so be prepared. The fact that he has tons of energy and has gained weight is a good sign according to the DR. Thanks for all of the well wishes :)

I'd be scared to death too :( I'll keep Mac in prayers that he has
no more episodes ad he grows out of this asap. He sure is a great
looking boy! Wow...so is Hubby (love those guns) and your baby

:whew: allergies are brutal at times. keep us posted and keep the pictures coming.

Also, a suggestions, since he has this condition, it might be better to not have a collar on him and use a harness just to ensure no addition strain on the trachea. Might not make any difference, but worth not taking the chance.

glad to hear that Mac is feeling better. Definitely agree about using a harness, as opposed to a collar stated by 2BullyMama

So happy to hear he is doing better and the meds are working. Good idea about the vaporizer.

Yes...we only use a harness. Too scared that it may make his breathing worse.
