View attachment 71858View attachment 71858Hi Kori, Christine, and David have given you great advice, and I agree that Bocephus's tremors were triggered from a combination of low blood sugar from fasting for surgery, and from the stress of being at the vets office. If it was something serious, I would think the vet would not have gone ahead with the surgery. I hope his surgery goes well, and he's back home soon. Sending love, hugs and prayers that everything goes well. Please keep us posted on how his surgery went.

Thank you all so much!!! I watched the video of his tremors when I picked him up. He has absolutely never done that in front of me before. I asked the neurologist what I should do if it happens again and he said "nothing" but I've read a lot about this today and most say to distract them and draw their attention so I am going to do that.

I just got him home and he is doing the "I am so tired I can't support my head" bob. I'll journal any episodes he may have between now and his follow up in two weeks, and pray that there will be none.

I want so bad for him to have a happy, healthy and long life!!!

So happy Bo had a successful surgery and he's back at home. I hope he has a quick and easy recovery, and no more tremors. Keep an eye on him, and it's a good idea to journal any episodes he may have. Hoping and praying he doesn't have anymore. Feel better Bocephus.

I'm just now getting home and reading this......looks like everyone gave you great advice. Head tremors are so common.....and the teeth chattering?? Orion does that out of anticipation of her upcoming meal. I think you have everything under control. If you ever do need advice on epilepsy....I can sure help you there.

Glad all went well.

Oh....and what kind of dr refuses medication without doing an MRI? I've done a lot of k9 epilepsy research and tons of talking to people....this is the first time I've heard that.

Contact your local Bulldog Rescue (search on Web or on Facebook). These folks normally know so much about out of the bulldog conditions. Because a lot of the bulldogs they rescue, are in bad shape sometimes, they see medical problems that are not the norm -- all the time. They also work with Vets that are very experienced with and in treating bulldogs. A 2nd opinion is never going to hurt & just because one Vet said he needed an MRI and medication - doesn't make it so. And lastly, there are some resources to help cover the bills. Ask your local rescue if they have such a list. There is a donation list that has been posted on this site before w/names & contact info. I know it's hard not to worry. But remember our babies pick up and read our emotions. Bocephus is going to be stressed from the eye procedure. So keeping a calm head & attitude while he heals from this - it will help you both. Good luck to both of you and let us know how you are doing.

The only time I've ever seen him chatter his teeth is when I'm scooping food for him. I think the neuro specialist at this hospital is a little too rough for my taste.

I am keeping a very close eye on him. The more I think about it, it almost hurts my heart that they didn't even talk to him in the video I saw - didn't comfort him at all. I love his eye doc and the techs there are great. I just feel like the neurologist freaked me out for no reason.

Glad that his surgery went well and that you got good advice from everyone on head tremors. Hope he recovers well at home!
Thank you!!! Besides the peeing every six minutes from the prednisone, he is doing well. I know you, of all people, have had more than your fair share of vet interactions lately.

They have to give you the worst scenario. It doesn't make it any easier, though. I am so happy the surgery went well and he's recovering at home!

I know, and I appreciate having all of the information, I think I just take exception with his gruff manner.

Thank you!!! He's doing well today, but he is constipated. I'm sure it's the meds so I'm giving him some pumpkin and see if that will help. Keeping my fingers crossed that this surgery will do the trick
