After reading some other posts it seems as if my guy is huge.He weighed 17 lbs 2 weeks ago. The vet didn't say anything about him being overweight. But he is "starving" constantly. I am sure he has gained weight since also.
Yeah I would say if you dont see him as being fat then he is fine. Some bullies are just big and some are petite. Especially the girls seem to be more on the petite side usually. My boy is smaller than most I see weighing in at around 55 pounds and for him that is a tiny bit chubby.
I agree with cali~jenn, if he is not fat don't worry, Vegas is 61 lbs and not a pound overweight at a year and a half. I love to see pictures of a big fat bully, but I know how un-healthy it is for them, I watch Vegas's weight better than my own!!
Chester weighed about 12 lbs at that age..but even at 1 year..he is about 53-55 lbs. He's not that big, but he's stocky. It's funny how many different sizes our bullies seem to be. The one surgeon I work with.. his bully (half sibling of Chester).. weighed about 70 lbs at 9 months and the vet put him on a diet!
Perhaps there is some Olde or American blood in his genes and he will be larger boned. But really, it does not matter. He is your baby, and he is ADORE-A-BULL!!! and yes, big is beautiful!
Same with everyone, don't worry too much about it. Everybully's different in terms of size. If you feel that he's not overweight, then that should be ok. Puppies always yearn to eat more. My 9-month old Stiggy always looks for more food.
I wouldn't be worried. The bully adults here seem to vary greatly on weight, from like less than 40 lbs to like 80 lbs. I can imagine it would be the same at the puppy stage from one bully to another.
