Default Sir Rumble Pig needs prayers!

Rumble began limping two weeks ago where he would not put weight on his left hind leg. I came on here and read and waited a couple days and he seemed to be doing a little better. Then he limped again and we went to the vet today. He had limped once in the past but the vet said it was nothing. Today they did X-rays and they think he has a partial tear in his ccl on his left hind leg and they found hip dysplasia on his right hind leg. I am so worried and concerned about the tear and furious about the hip dysplasia. He is on strict rest and doggie ibuprofen for a week and then we go back. He was already on glucasomen vitamins and he will stay on those. Hopefully he gets back to feel better but I know a tear is not a good diagnosis and neither is hip dysplasia.

Hugs, prayers Nd positive thoughts that he heals up without any surgery.

my girl is almost 9 and has hip dysphasia all her life, it does not stop her from doing anything, she runs, jumps, does stairs, everything a dog can do. Deramaxx helps her as needed

Im so sorry to hear that Rumble isnt well
I hope with the vets help you will be able to have some plan of action
My friend dog suffers from HD for 3 years now -they do aqua therapy and her girl improved so much to the point of running around (she couldnt at the start) she was also on a strict diet to keep her as lean as possible not to add any more pressure on her hind legs xx

Just went through this with one of mine but no partial ACL tear as they thought. Bilateral Hip Dysplasia and bad left knee. Doing Adequan injections and will start laser therapy.

Hello Tiffany, very sad to hear Rumble is having issues w/rear legs.
It's VERY important you keep him as still as possible for next 2 weeks,
I'm talking comatose! And then, fairly still for the next month...then
    reassess his limp.

How old is he and how is his weight? Does he act in pain still?

Cami went thru this exact scenario 3 months ago. She's 6 y/o and very
overweight, not a good risk for surgery and it's a long, hard recovery.
Strict confinement & only go potty & eat for weeks then not much more
the next 2 weeks. She limped about the same for a solid month than very
slowly, almost invisibly, limp got a little less apparent, slowly, the next month.
Her Vet said same thing about bout her rear legs & reccd'ed ACL surgery too.
After being in obvious pain, for which she took an anti-inflammatory & pain
reliever, for two weeks, Cami limped pretty bad but did not appear to be in
pain. Now she barely, if at all, limps. I keep a close eye on her, no jumping,
no chicken scratch dance, etc...cut her kibble w/green beans...no treats...
I'm hopeful she'll not go thru surgery. I did put her on a daily joint support.
Keep us updated & I'll keep y'all in prayers. I think bullie's knees & hips are
a mystery as how they can walk as well as they do~ Stay vigilant & hopeful!
GOD bless & favor you & yours, dear Tiffany~Give Rumble kisses <3

Sorry about your baby, hopefully the tear will heal without surgery. A friend of ours has a bully with bad HD and they are doing laser treatments on him, and it is helping him greatly.

at the vet today he weighed 54 pounds and the vet said he is looking really good and lean and to not change anything food wise. He is on doggie ibuprofen for lack of a better term to help with inflammation and we are resting. The vet sent a report and it says severe hip dysplasia and potential ccr tear. He was already on a daily joint supplement and she said to keep him on it. Besides rest and the pills what else can I do for him? I feel so bad. She also said after the tear is figured our we should keep him very active like he was to prevent more problems. Has anyone else heard this?
