I am wondering if anyone here has had a EB with this condition.

If so had she had pups,how old was she at the time.
Treatment and outcome?

I worked at a vets office several years ago and dealt with several dogs that had it. Some medications can help but most of the time for the health of the female the uterus had to be removed due to it either coming back or not being able to be controlled by meds. It can if left untreated or if meds don't work result in death if the uterus isn't removed.

My girl doesn't have it but I was wondering if not spaying was really that much of an impact ad how many intact female bullies had the condition within this forum

She had a litter of pups and we where going to skip a heat cycle and breed her one more time and she got Pyometra after her heat cycle. We had to do an emergency spay on her. The vet sid we could try to fight it with antibiotics, but it is a long and hard process, plus you take the chance of loosing your female, so we spayed her. If you are not breeding, then I highly recommend spaying your female. If they have a uterus that is slightly leaning forward and you never see a discharge, or sometimes it gets plugged and you never know they have it, until it's too late to save them. We were fortunate with BeBe, as I just happen to see the discharge that day I was home and knew what it was. I immediately took her to the vet and they spayed her that day.

I really don't want to spay her but this condition is one I fear.

I have a retired breeder I adopted at 5 y'o and just turned 6.
Didn't realize she wasn't spayed until after adoption. Had a
bunch of personal problems and she went into heat before
scheduled spay so cancelled it. Cami just finished up another
heat so now I have a timeline, she's overweight so I've got
3 months to get it off her then spay. The older they are, the
more at risk for this condition, formerly bred OR NOT. My
sister lost her Chow to it. I'd spay her.
