AGGRESSION!?!

I have a 3 month old male EB puppy and he has some issues at time with trying to bite my face or hands; I was just carrying him to take him outside and was talking to him and he lunged at my face and tried to bite me then tried to bite my hands. I told him enough in a sharp tone then he seemed happy and was trying to lick me!?! I'm concerned because he's tried this a few other times and I have a small child at home; so don't want this to turn into more. Please help?

Brutus tries to do this. He likes to bite ears when he gets excited. If you consistently tell him no and immediately put him down, If he is on the couch he goes right on the floor, as this is a priviledge he will get the message. I do not usually allow floor play because Brutus views this as the kids are now equal to him and he pounces. Just keep calm and consistent and it will get better. Also at this age, they are little bullsharks and they will try to bite and nip. I have a nephew that is 2yrs old and I found Brutus to be very rambunctious so I put him in his harness and leashed him whil my nephew was over and Brutus learned quick the type of behavior that I expected from him. If your worried about your kids you could try this. Bulldogs learn very fast.

You just have to keep after him about not allowing him to bite. He is really at the "shark" age now, and will be testing you all the time. When you discipline him make sure you say-"no bite" so he learns what that means. If he is on the floor biting-stick a tough toy in his mouth and say "bite this". The key is to not give up. They get especially nippy during the teething stage, and if taught, once they get their second teeth, it stops. Keep at it. It is frustrating-but it will pay off eventually. It's a normal stage for all pups-sometimes even more so for Bullies,it seems! Also go along with what @brutus77 said.
It is not really aggression at this age-more like "testing'. but if not taught that it is a no no-it would become aggression later.

It's not aggression, it's a puppy being a puppy, and that is how they play. He will grow out of it, especially if you let him know, by a stern NO BITE, he will soon get that is not acceptable. Redirect it with a chew toy he can play with. Be patient and just relax, he will grow out of this stage.

My puppy is at the same stage, she's 13 weeks old. And I hope it ends soon!! My boyfriend and I are getting very tired of the biting! It hurts and out hands and feet look like pin cushions!

Yep. Same here. Bear is 13 weeks old too. My son is just over one and he loves to give the puppy kisses. Bear sees it as an opportunity to lunge and bite his face. He does it to me too. It's the most frustrating thing because I don't want him hurting my son but he is a baby too. I am really scared that he won't outgrow this phase but I'm sure he will. I haven't found anything to make him stop biting. Making a loud yip doesn't phase him, he likes to be sprayed in the face with water, putting him down doesn't work because then he goes after our old mastiff, I've even tried tapping his nose- he gets mad and bites me harder. Redirecting works for a few seconds then he's right back at nipping.

You're not alone, don't worry! It sounds like every bully goes though this stage and they all seem to outgrow it. If it becomes a real problem, maybe try some puppy classes!

I really do think we have all been through this. I can tell you for sure tapping them on the nose will not work. I can speak from personal experience that they see this as game on and the behavior gets worse. If the pup wont stop, it is time for a nap. I used to call this "puppy time out". I did not shout or anything I just picked Brutus up and put him in his crate for a nap. If he didnt fall asleep, he was out five minutes later all calm and cute. If he fell asleep, well there was your problem, he needed a nap. I think of it just like having a human baby. What do they do when they are over tired? They act out. Good luck.

If you really think that there is a real aggression issue you should hire a behavior specialist to come over and evaluate.

I think its normal. He is being a puppy. Lola did (does) the same thing. So does Leo. Just keep telling him no and provide him with a toy to attack instead

Thanks for all the great replies. He's doing better and I have had a trainer come by and work with him and he's helped me with a few things. Yogi is definitely smart! Learned to lay down in 15 minutes with the trainer; I'm sure he will be fine! Thanks again.
