I don't know what could be wrong as most common things seems to be kind of ruled out Since the first vet didn't really do anything about it I'd also go somewhere else... Poor baby, he's so young still. If he bumps in to stuff and acts like he don't see things it's probably not just a tummy pain or anxiety... I hope the next vet visit will tell you more about what's going on. Please let us know, and hugs to you and Dozer

You hit the nail on the head w/this one Todd...

This is exactly how Wellie started acting when we found out that he had hydrocephalus. Pacing, barking wildly and running into things…

You need to have your puppy seen by a vet and I do agree 100% this is neurological. He COULD have hydrocephalus, or the beginning stages of it… My baby Wellie had a SEVERE case of it, and it came on suddenly. I would keep him in a playpen so that he wouldn't hurt himself. If you want more information you can PM me!!!

Totally neurological! He can't stop because his brain is too active. Vegas does this after a grand mal seizure. Paces and walks into stuff.... almost blind like.

The vets in Miami aren't worth their payroll, so I bring Baxter to the Veterinary Emergency Hospital when its something obviously wrong.

The training of the doctors at any Emergency clinic are far and above anything your local vet will have.

I believe even though this may not be "urgent", that you should bring him to the biggest veterinary clinic with emergency services in your city.

Only because you will have access to doctors who are actually educated. Not because there's any emergency to worry about. I believe it will increase your chances of getting an answer. Rather than mindlessly hypothesizing like your vet did, they will actually try to determine the cause. And that is worth it, because it means potential treatment.

I don't believe your dog is pacing because he has separation anxiety, or is eating bad food. There's something causing the pacing. Maybe pain or discomfort, and walking is relieving that pain to some extent. Maybe neurological. Bring him to the ER hospital and ask for their smartest doctor. He may figure it out.

I believe it is a neurological-hydrocephalus, or seizure disorder, as others have stated.

Please keep us updated. I believe everybody has come to good conclusions on what it may be. The only thing I could have thought of was maybe OCD. Which is actually quite common in dogs. However, if he is sick and doing this because he is sick then it clearly isnt that. Im sure we would all like an update and good luck! Poor baby. I really hope its nothing too serious and it can be corrected. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone,we took him to another vet this morning and he basically said the same has the one we took him to yesterday that it is prob in his head..He gave his some shots and some meds,he isn't acting any better now he keeps his head down while he walks..He isn't going around in a big circle like he was he's walking around in different places, but still isn't acting like himself....So now i think the next step is to find a vet that can do scans and stuff. Thanks everyone again..will try to keep you all updated.

I'm so sorry to hear this, I really think he needs to see a specialist. Did they recommend anyone to you? I personally would take him to a neurologist…

It doesn't sound like the vets takes this seriously Normally there are basic reasons for why a dog would pace around but it seems like all those can be ruled out in this case. If there is a specialist in the area I'd take him there. I really feel for you and your family, I hope Dozer will get the right treatment, thinking of you all

It would of course depend on his diagnosis. If he's experiencing seizures, then he would likely be placed on anti-epileptic medications. I feel terrible this is happening to your bully and i hope and pray he will be okay. Did you get a referral to a neurologist yet?
