If at all possible, I would get a second opinion. Better to be safe than sorry. Welcome to the forum. Hopefully you'll get some positive information soon. Please keep us posted.

i agree with the others. A second opinion is necessary in this case. In the mean time I would try to keep your baby as calm as you possible can until you can see your good bully vet.

Welcome to EBN, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your new puppy. You've come to the right place a lot of us have gone through so many similar issues with our pups.

Our Dually had the Elongated Soft Palate surgery twice. First time he was 7 months old which was the same time as his neuter and the second time he was almost 3 years old which was the same time as his TPLO surgery. The same Surgeon performed both Palate surgeries on Dually.

I would personally get in touch with the Surgeon/Vet who performed the Elongated Soft Palate surgery on your puppy. They are supposed to stay in touch and keep a close watch for at least 4 weeks after the surgery as the puppy could develop pneumonia. If you don't feel confident with the Surgeon/Vet definitely see if there is a Specialist in your area to get a second opinion.

Good luck to you and your pup I hope this helps.
Marlene

I had the palate surgery done on Dozer and also laser surgery to open up his nasal passages. It has done wonders for him. That being said he still gets short of breath when he plays hard especially for extended periods of time. The vet checked on him for a couple of weeks after his surgery and I had to limit his activity until he had healed well. I can tell he feels better now and he recovers a lot faster after playing around.

Hi and welcome:) I'm sorry about the issues you experience with your baby:( It's so hard when they're not completely well and you don't know what's wrong. I would contact the surgeon that did the operation on him and ask him about details, how it went and what's to expect for the time being after the operation. Maybe he noticed something about you bulldog that they've forgotten to mentioned to you. Also how was his recovery handled? If the surgery and recovery went well it seems unlikely that's the problem... Like many have said before, I'd go for a second opinion by another vet or possibly ask the current vet to look past the operation and just look at the symptoms. I know it can be hard to find a vet that knows bulldogs... but once you find "your" vet you'll know.

Please let us know how it goes with your baby:)

Welcome to EBN, your baby is so handsome and I can tell how much you love
him...with these bullies it's amazing how soon they get it our hearts!

I was tagged to offer you advice but these great members have covered it well.
Please do let us know what the Vet says and how your bully is doing along the
way. I will get him and you, in my prayers.

Vets can be very knowledgeable but lack education in proper nutrition. Lynn Manydogs
gave great advice...take him OFF the royal canin (transition slowly) put him on a grain free,
soy free kibble, many here like the Fromm's Puppy when older, Fromm's Pork N Peas. He
may have grass allergies as you mentioned licking grass then tongue looking white. GOD bless!

Welcome to EBN and I'm sorry it's not because of a happier occation. Lot of great advice here, but the most important is to get him checked throughly and maybe by another vet. They seem to take his troubles too lightly. Heart is the one thing that should be listened at every visit. You need to know everything and get a plan of action.

This sounds very similar to what we are experiencing with Mayhem. He has had a chronic lung infection. He would get the steroids and antibiotics and feel better for several days or even weeks and then the same symptoms would manifest again. I would suggest taking him to a vet that can provide digital xrays and an ultrasound. They will be able to check out both his lungs and his heart. Best of luck finding the cause.

Sorry, I am WAY late on this post. To me it does sound like a heart or lung problem. I would want to speak to the Veterinarian who did the palate surgery. Surely he checked the heart and lungs before going through with surgery. That would be my first thought. Praying that you baby will be okay, and you will find the answers.

I also agree with Cyndi-but I would still like to speak with Vet, who did palate surgery...

I see you from Israel , must be hot there too. You're in a good place here the people will help you, I don't know if you have many bulldog vets in your country, but if you can find one, that would be great. I don't believe its a food problem. I wish you much success with your new baby, hope everything is well today
