Irritated sutures or poorly patched hernia?

Hi guys!

I finally got my bully, Millie, spayed on the 17th of January. On the day of her spay she also got an umbilical hernia fixed. However, she seems to be reacting poorly to the sutures. I noticed a large lump where her hernia used to be that was very red. I took her to the vet and they told me that it could just be a reaction to the sutures and it would go away with time. Today I noticed that it had gotten worse and more bruised looking with three small lumps. I'm taking her to the vet again tomorrow morning but does anyone have any idea what it may be in the mean time?

Thank you so much!

I'm so sorry to hear about Millie… it sounds like she is having a reaction to the sutures. I will tag some members that may be able to advice you, please keep us posted on what the vet says...

Cold compress will help with the swelling, but if she is having a rection to the stiches she may need a stronger antibiotic
