Ok, so my wife picked up Buddy yesterday and when I got home I couldn't believe it. He acted like a completely different dog. He was full of energy and VERY happy. The tail removal was very successful, the surgery site looks great, such a DRASTIC change from the first surgery. It's very clean looking and there is only an upside down Y of stitches in stead of the horrendous mess he has before. The Dr. did a fabulous job fixing the mess. Too bad she didn't handle it the first time. She said she was rather upset when she saw him after his first surgery, so I'm pretty sure she knew the first Dr. really screwed up and that's why she did this 2nd surgery for free....CYA if you catch my drift. Anyways, the "bad" side is that Buddy is feeling soo great and that he is acting like a fool. He has to stay in his crate for the next 3 days to minimize movement and chances of tearing his stitches. Last night I was sitting on my living room floor petting him and he walked away to see what the kids were doing and then he came running back to the living room, slid halfway across the room on his stomach (wooden floors) and stopped next to me...I swear I heard him say.."WEEEeeeeee!!" lol. He is definitely a much happier pup now! I'll try to take some pics later and post, he has a tiny little nub about 1/2" high sticking up where his tail was, I've nick named him Nubs now.
