Little chuck has been in oxygen for 4 nights. No significant improvement yet. Does anyone think it could be canine flu instead of pneumonia??

I would think they would know as well. They don't tell us so much it's hard to get straight answers. A tracheal wash showed positive and negative gram bacteria so that makes me think pneumonia, but I am not an expert. Would love any input.

Hi Everyone! Chuck came home today! After 8 nights in the hospital and on oxygen, the vets feel he is strong enough to come home and continue his treatment from here. He lost 2.5 pounds while there (he was only 14 pounds to start) and is still coughing up a lot of gunk, but we are so happy to have him home with us. Thank you again to everyone for all of the kind words and advice. I can't believe what a great online EB community there is! Hopefully this is the end of little Chuck's pneumonia saga, and he continues to improve.
