-2014-01-16_11-22-27_188-jpgI talked with the vet today, and he said that he would do a physcial exam and xray her without sedation, but really all he could do at the clinic would be to prescribe her with NSAID (metacam) and sent the xrays to an orthopaedic specialist, or just refer me to a specialist totally. He mentioned that diagnosing upper limb lamenesses were a bit tricky because the changes can be very subtle, more so than for hindlimbs. So first line of treatment would be to try NSAIDs and see if the limp improves. Since Lola has been doing well in the crate the past two days, I asked if he would allow me to pick up the medication without seeing Lola so she could keep strict bedrest and he agreed. I'm going to pick up the meds tonight. Limping has been very subtle when we let her out of the crate or off the couch. But man does she want to run around.

we are all suckers for a cute bully, eh? While she was in there today, she got a bowl of PB, two slices of havarti cheese, and half a fried egg. And then she spends the evenings on the couch with us don't worry!!! she's not imprisoned all day long.

will keep you guys posted on how it goes over the next few days. thanks for the support.

@aprilemari...I'm sad Lola is limping and still doing so [replacer_img] Will keep her (and
you) in prayers that she heals w/out further methods needed asap. Sending
love & hugs of comfort, it's terrible when we are worried for them. <3

Cami injured her left hind leg a week ago, still limping altho, not yelping now
or showing any sign of pain when I handle it. I kept her quiet & confined until
pain & swelling was gone but she is limping still. I'm going to give her another
week then take her in if still limping then.

it's amazing how much our babies are able to tolerate by way of pain, huh? I can't even tell if Lola is in pain or not, she has never made a yip whatsoever. And continues to use her limping arm. I wish I had her tolerance.

Yes, I know...to hear Cami cry in pain (knowing their tolerance) made me cry

I just wanted to give an update on Lola. She went to the vet and he did find that she did have a reaction to some pressures on her right shoulder. He did an xray on her two arms and sent them to an orthopaedic surgeon, who replied that he/she did not see anything out of the ordinary or anything out of place. Our vet did show us the xrays and mentioned a bit of arthritis in the non-limping arm's elbow. He suggested putting her back on the NSAID metacam and to take it easy. It has been over 1 month with a limp. It is better in the mornings, and worse as she exercises. I started up the metacam again today. She doesnt seem to be in pain at all, but I suppose its harder for me to see her limp than it is for her to run around like a puppy and play with a limp.

Awwwe, I am sorry to hear about Lola. Is she also taking any kind of joint lubricant or supplement yet? I have seen on here many times before a med starting with a G.... seems to work miracles sometimes. I think @2BullyMama has given it to Banks, and another member Sheila long ago, her boy could not even stand up at all on his rear legs. I sure hope, whatever it is that is going on, she will be comfortable with whatever treatment comes up, and so you don't have to worry so much.

Thanks so much for the update as I've thought about y'all daily. Have you put
Lola on a joint supplement yet?

Cami just finished her meds and like Lola, still has slight limping. We'll be going
to specialist for x-rays (Mother got sick for 3 weeks so got slowed down) but
really, I think it comes own to keeping them on anti inflammatories, joint meds,
and trying laser treatment & acupuncture then seeing what helps THEM most.
I'll update soon and you keep doing so. I pray our babies recover and soon!
    GOD be with y'all <3
