Today Boeboe was booked to have her operation, but I totally lost it when I learned about Winston's passing after surgery. If it was up to me I'd put the operation off and go for other options but she's now booked for December 27 instead as the hospital is then again fully staffed. It felt like a bad dream reading about Winston, Tracey has been such good support to me when it comes to Boeboe's upcoming surgery. In my mind it wasn't supposed to be like this:*(.

Our vet says not to worry, but I can't help it. She's had surgeries before which should maybe make me feel better but I'm now worrying that there might be complications cos of it? I don't know, does anybody know? It's now more than a year ago since her last operation, I guess I'm stressing for nothing:unsure: They want to keep her over night for three nights and that is freaking me out as well since we're not living close to our vet. It's a 1h 30 min drive if something should happen...

I will ask the vet to use the same anesthetics as they've used on her before, at least I know she can handle that one which ever one it is... I really trust our vet, everyone I've met there has a lot of knowledge and they're sweet and caring. Doctor Dave has previously preformed hip surgery on Joey, operations on Boeboe's eyes, spaying of Boeboe and neutering on Bennie and it has all went very well every time. The doctors there are specialist and they take on special cases, I have no real reason to worry but I'm just scared and heart is broken for Tracey:*(

Petra, it's understandable you feel this way & of course, Winston's tragic death
has shook EBN to it's core, moreover, Tracey is one of our most supportive members
and we are angry she has to endure such grief & undeserved event. I can assure you
that Tracey & her family will overcome this and move on with life, she told me..."None
of us are promised tomorrow" this is true. All we can do is live our best life each day,
hold our loved ones dear and trust in GOD's promises~not that we will escape death but
HE waits for us all, man & beast, & gives life everlasting to all that believe & hope in HIM.
Rest in these promises and give your worry to HIM then do what needs to be done for
Boeboe knowing NO MATTER WHAT, GOD watches over her and you. You know too, EBN
stands with you in collective prayer & positive thoughts for safe & effective surgery.
TRUST, Petra...Love you!

Thank you Texas Carol:heart: I don't know how you always know what to say:) I appreciate you and everyone else on EBN so much. The support and care for others I see on here is something I mostly don't even experience in life between family and friends. And thank you Pati Robins:heart: I'll get through what ever comes my way, all I want is to have no regrets... But I've done what I can to try to talk her out of this operation and now all I can do is to do my best to prepare her for it. Unless I take her and run away... I believe that Doctor Dave will do his very best to care for her and I know he likes her very much as he's got nicknames for her, he calls her Boebis:). Thanks again, I feel a bit better already:blush2:

Today was Boeboe's after surgery check up, she had her stitches removed and she walked for Dr Dave so he could see how she is doing. There was also some squeeze and feel going on but Boeboe didn't seem to care at all, she just wanted to get out the door and go with back home, lol. All is looking really good and she just needs another two weeks of supervision so she doesn't run or jump, after that she can pretty much do what she wants:) She walked on the leg right from the start, she limps but she walks amazingly well considering.

We're going to take her for x-rays again a year from now to see how the cartilage has built up and also check so the other hip has not gotten any worse. But for now all seems to be going well:)
