I was wondering if anyone has given their dogs an injection of adequan for arthritis? The vet showed me how to do the injection into his muscle but I am terrified to do it on my own!! Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Yes, i had to do this for a couple years for my boy..... distract with food, treats, or toys and just pitch the thigh real quick... do not do it slow. the slower you go the more it can pitch or scare them... if you are nervous or scared they will be too. After you do it a few times, the easier it gets

I have never given adequan, but I HAVE given many shots. At first years ago, when I had to start-I was scared to death that I was going to hurt them. A muscle shot is easy, and just do it like the vet showed you. You will be fine.
