Sassy and Dozer
Sassy has what looked like a small sore. I though that Dozer had nipped her while they were wrestling but now it looks horrible. I've been putting neosporin on it once a day but Dozer likes to lick it off. The whole area looks irritated and I'm unsure if I should continue with home treatment or take her to the vet.
Any advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ripley has had something like this under his chin, and they would get flared up and bleed. The vet put him on Cephalexin (750 mg) for 20 days and it started to clear up pretty quickly. I hope Sassy gets some relief soon.

Not sure, but to me it looks like a case of acne. Seems similar to what both my boys have had (still do get on occasion too). Is it bleeding a little? Keep the area nice and dry, after she drinks water, eats food...make sure to gently wipe the entire chin/face area so it's not moist. If it's getting better w/the ointment your using then continue to do so. If it gets worse, she may need some oral antibiotics. That's been my experience anyhow.

I would wash it with some antibacterial soap and keep it dry and see if it gets better in a few days.

I agree, clean it really good and keep it dry, maybe even out a little peroxide on it to help dry it out. It could be a pimple or ingrown hair too.

Looks like an ingrown hair or acne, as others have said... keep it clean and dry will clear up in no time
