I don't know how I missed all these post about Lilly's cherry eye but so glad she is healing. Sorry you and Lilly had to go through all of this. Hope she heals up completely with no need of any further surgeries. Thoughts and prayers from Missouri. Our little Zoey is scheduled for her cherry eye repair (Tuck) Friday, 3 days away.

Tom, will be sure to be praying over lil Zoey~I feel your worry :(

Sending positive vibes of comfort & peace to you & wife...GOD bless!

Hi Pati,
I'm not sure if what I'm seeing is Cherry eye? her bottom lids just look a little droopy. It could still be healing, or maybe it's just normal for Lily?

But you know your pup best, take her to a vet that specializes in Ophthalmology if you feel it's not healing properly, don't wait and don't go to her normal vet.

So sorry Pati. But I'm curious, her eyes, they are not bothering Lily, right? She is acting normal? Dropped Zoey off this morning, fingers crossed!

Tom, I'm sure Zoey will be just fine. They only keep then under anesthesia for about 15 minutes to do the procedure. I'm looking at Blue's eyes now, and if it wasn't for the redness, I wouldn't even know he
had it done (his palate and tonsils though are another matter.. grrr)..

They are droopy ,cant understand why ,her eyelids never where like this will they stay droopy like that???
Husband says im overreacting and there is no point seeing vet atm ! (as all this ops and visits costed is so far more than a dog -insurance wont cover it as condition came within week of having her insured)
Not sure if it is cherry or not tbh it always looked like it would like to pop out but it
didn't
Thats a close up as much as i could keep her still of right eye

I think it still probably needs to heal. She's also still a pup. Her eyes are going to change as her head fills out.

But, you're like me- and I won't be satisfied until I know for certain that everything's OK. So I'd probably give it another few weeks, and If I still didn't think it was healing properly, would go see a specialist.

Quick update xxwe just cane back from the vet and i was having quite a conversation - vet suggested tucking in one of Lilys eye again and i said no i want them cut she said she like to do them at least twice before cutting-so i reminded my vet the risk of dog going under -i don't think she was happy with it ,but when she mention dry eye i had my answer covered -i kept calm (that surprised my hubby)
Anyway operation is starting in 15 of october! Lets hope this time we will be lucky !

Pati, is this the vet that did the first procedure? If so, I think at this point, you need to take her to a specialist.
Look for an Ophthalmologist, or ask your vet to recommend one. You can usually find a good one at an Animal Hospital.

I know you said your vet has bullie experience since she owned them, but I wouldn't be so quick to go back to her at this point. She's not an Ophthalmologist, and since her first procedure failed, time to let a specialist take a look.

No it wasnt my vet -it was an opthalmologist -(i use the same term as i cant even write this name correctly ) ,my vet is on holliday and she didnt perform lilys surgery sadly at the time she got deaf in a family so other surgeon done it
-i did mention my luck sucks!
I was so angry -i struggled to keep calm ,-not sure if this woman want to rinse me from everything i got or shes just plain stupid i booked the op on a day lillys vet is back this lady got my full trust!

Good. I was hoping it wasn't the same person.

Give lots of kisses to Lily from Blue. Poor girl's gonna hate going to the vet eventually :(.

Hi guys xx
Just a quick update to let you know that Lily will be having her second op tomorrow so i wanted to ask you all for prayers so it all goes well for her and her eyes -as im already starting to worry
As you can see madam eyes didn't improve and sometimes they tend to look worse than now (not sure why)
So here is Lily today xxx im hoping to take the picture tomorrow after we pick her up , and yet again another journey have started
I began to think i should change the thread name to "Lily's cherry eye post of journey"

Im sorry i havent been much around but i had few things on my mind + hubby with his PTSD xx
