That is crazy! Oh and they told me it can easily take a year to see those results! I hope we can do the same for Samson that you did for Nitschke, I should probably look into raw feeding. I've just never wanted to try it but hey if it helps that's all that matters.
This is exactly why I opted out of doing allergy shots with Vegas after having him tested. Our vet said it could take up to a year to see results IF we even seen them. Veg's allergies are 99% environmental so I just use Pharmaseb shampoo every two weeks, (more if needed) and make sure he is clean. It's a constant battle here in Florida since it is so hot and humid and something tropical is blooming every other week. We just take it one day at a time.

I'm so glad you posted good info about Dr. Kramer.

I went to him once right after I adopted Gypsy and I didn't get a good feeling from him. As a new bully owner and Gypsy HATING the vet, it was an overwhelming experience and I felt like I was getting taken for a ride with all the stuff that was prescribed.

I was eventually going to give him another chance because he's local but I wasn't very happy about it. Now I'll go in with a better attitude.

Oh please do! He is the most amazing vet ever! Not the type to get on the floor and play with them but VERY knowledgable about the breed and pets in general. He has many specialists in every area that he can refer personally as well. I have to say he is the first vet I have left feeling good about the visit. (Even after spending over $500) I drive over an hour to get there but will for any reason other than basic shots etc. he takes the time to talk to you, no rushed feeling whatsoever. In fact mugsy (pug) just went a couple weeks ago. He had been to another bully vet closer to home and MANY others in between. Not a single one ever pointed out to me that his nares are small. First thing he told me was if he needed any surgery he recommends opening them up a little for his breathing. I had no clue! Mugsy is almost 7 and could have been breathing better. That kinda shocked me. Thankfully he has no surgeries coming so that want get done but could have when he was young had I known then.

He definitely isn't the get on the floor and play with the pups kind of vet but honestly I think it's better that he isn't. The vets I have seen in the past like that get Samson all excited and it makes it a little more difficult. He almost has that Caesar Milan type energy, calm assertiveness that made Samson more calm than he usually is at the vet. Made it much easier to flip him on his back and show Dr. Kraemer his rash, Samson wasn't so preoccupied with giving him the paw, kissing him, etc. He didn't sit there petting Samson but Samson layed at his feet not mine while we were talking and let Dr. Kraemer do whatever he wanted so he liked him just fine despite not being showered with attention. The fact alone that he does SO much for SCBR makes me want to go there, supporting a vet that does so much to help rescue just feels better.

You know, you r right! Mugsy is terrified of vets to the point of quivering and that one time had a seizure walking in. He barely shook in there even in the waiting room. Every other pup I saw walk in the door was happy and excited to be there too. Must be the energy of the place. And he is the first to do cuttys anal glands with him not crying. Lol
