Yesterday was a big day for our boy. He had the soft palate surgery, he was neutered, they removed his inverted and embedded tail, and corrected his cherry eye! I felt so bad when I picked him up- he was just pitiful. But, as of this morning, he's prancing around like his normal, happy self. I am keeping him on pain meds for the first 4 days- mostly b/c I know the tail will probably be the most painful.
I waited about 6 weeks to do this surgery, just to make SURE that his tail couldn't be kept healthy naturally, but I think we ultimately made the right decision. I am so glad that these surgeries are behind us, and I'm excited to see Chunk become the healthy dog he really is!

Here is a video I took of him last night. He SO badly wanted to be in the kitchen with me, but as you can see, the sedation medication was taking its toll on him! Lol- it made me laugh :D

Awww poor sweet boy, now for the hard part, keeping him calm for the next two weeks so he doesn't pop his stitches. Just a little warning, we did have a little spotting and leaking with Bacon after he got neutered but nothing more then that and he was fine in the end.

That is a lot of surgeries, but the vet must have felt he was doing well to have continued and done them all. At least you know now that he won't have to go under again!!!

That video reminds me of Bella when i brought her home after her cherry eye surgery, she fought the sleep with every part of her ...

That is three less anesthesia's that he won't have to go through. Hope he is back to his usual self soon! We will be anxious to hear about his recovery.

Love 'the Chunkster' and thank you for the video, he looks great!

Will keep him in my prayers for a great & speedy recovery...a lot at once
but so wonderful no more anesthesia, so dangerous for our babies.

I lost my wonderful and first bully, Brutus, from anesthesia, it caused an
irregular heat beat and they'd already put him in the back because every
thing looked fine and so did he. They called to tell me I could pick him up.
Fifteen minutes later, they called, he was gone. We picked him up & buried
him beneath a tree underneath my bedroom window. He died 7 mo's after
adopting him and 5 months after my dear husband died at 52/y/o.

I'm always so happy when bullies come thru needed surgeries, healthy & well.
GOD bless!

Kills me everytime I hear your story Carol. Arms around you my dear.

How is Camy? It sounds like you're completely in love with her.

I'm so pleased.
