Hey,

It sorta splatters out like a cannon. And I could definately reduce his food intake a bit. And his backside looks fine to me. He doesnt seem to be in any realy pain, just the runs, and bad.

I just spoke to the vet, and it appears he tested positive for Giardia, so I have to go pick up medicine for him. While this is concerning, Im glad we caught it early on, and hopefully its fully treatable. I feel so bad for him, because we're trying to crate and potty train him, and he's generally been doing a decent job. Hopefully he'll get better quick!

Yep.... cannon butt is giardia! His bum may get raw too. I had a feeling since his poop was still runny on the bland diet.

Make sure you take all the medicine and then get the stool retested immediately following, to make sure it's 100% clear. Similar to UTI if there is even a trace left it will regrow and come back.

At least now you know what it is.

Giardia is also contagious to humans so no kisses and wash up really well after cleaning up any stool. It's worse than food poisoning!

Don't be alarmed if you see some blood mixed in with the poop. that's normal with Giardia. The pumpkin should only be given 1 time a day. 1 tbs. plain canned not pie mix.

My Winston had Giardia too, but was misdiagnosed as being Parvo... We took him in for several days to get fluids (to prevent dehydration), but the Vet also gave him two shots initially. He recovered in no time, and was back to his old puppy self. It was very scary for us, since this didn't happen w/our first bully. Hopefully your baby will be feeling better soon ; ) desertskybulldogs Sherry
