Got a strange question ...Lily sound like she had flem it is kind of like trying to clear his throat when he has the congestion (but not trying to vomit or cough -is just in with the breathing) she is fine played, eat well, drank her water
just wondering id its common with puppies ? we been t the vet on thusday and the only concern vet had is her breathing ( widening nostrils op soon)
(it doesn't sound for me like a kennel cough - i fostered few dogs who suffered with it )
we have next appointment for Lily next week for her jabs so i will double check with the vet , but just to make sure i ask here as well (just in caase i need to see vet sooner)

Is this a constant thing with Lily? Sometimes I will hear a "wet" sound coming from Tate's throat but that's not very common and happens if he's playing hard or excited. Something for you to definitely bring up to the vet on Thursday. If she starts vomiting mucus (or anything), or coughing, then I'd probably want to bring her in sooner but sounds like you know what to look out for.

Is this a recent thing .. was she doing it before or after she went to her recent vet visit?

Since Lily is acting fine otherwise, I don't think i'd take her to the emergency vet. BUT, if you feel she's worsening and cannot wait til Thurs, then of course, you would need to do that. Everything else okay w/Lily healthwise? I'm sure the vet listened to her heart and lungs during the last visit as these would also be affecting her breathing issues.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your Boxer.
We pet parents all tend to be a little over reactive, especially w/our bullies...but that's okay...it's better to be over-attentive, i think! You're doing a great job!

Is your vet a bully specialist? If not I would find one. It sounds like she may have an elongated palate. Does she sometimes have problems swallowing her food? I would find a good bully vet and ask him to check her palate.

so we been to the vets , they checked her over - ad vet thinks this congested sound is a result of her tiny nostrils, this put me at ease.-
We had such a hettic week, Lily character is truly coming out now xxx

Glad to hear it was nothing too serious.... watch her in the heat, those tiny nostrils can make it very hard to breathe

Hi everyone
I wonder if you could give me some advice please. I have just purchased a 5 1/2 month bulldog. She is a lovely dog with a really cheeky character and she loves my staffie. The advice I am after is she has had the enlongated soft palate operation about a month and a half ago. Sometimes she still sounds very raspy and crackly and a couple of times she has coughed up some phleim.is this natural and will it clear in time or will it stay the same? I was assured that she has been given a clean bill of health by the vet that performed the operation.
I appreciate your help.
Thank you
